Photography contest: Winners & Awards!

Okay, these were supposed to be out on Friday, I'm SO sorry they're late!! I had issues with broken codes and my photo editor. *grimaces* Please tell me if the code isn't working...

Anyway, here are the winners to the photography contest!

First place goes to Adam, who did an epic job with his ice photograph!

We have two second places! Bella Skye and Alexis Nicole tied in the votes! Bella Skye, with her amazingly amazing picture of the lake reflection, got one of the second places.

And Alexis Nicole got the other second place with her sweet ornament/snow/reflection picture (which had some amazing composition!)

And last, but most definitely not least, third place goes to Allie Dean's photograph of a Texas version of winter. Great job, Allison!

Well, that's it for the awards. You guys did amazing jobs!! :)

P.S. These awards will not link back to this page. I made them to, but due to my virus-stricken computer, they refuse to link. I'm sorry!!

Photography contest finalists!

It was so hard to pick only four pictures!! Everyone did such an amazing job! :D Here are the four finalists, and after you've looked at them you can go to the poll on the sidebar and vote which one you think is best!

First, we have a picture by Adam of My Father's World. I love this one! I think it looks so cold and mystical. As one who also lives in Texas, I know ice is RARE!! Amazing job, Adam!
#1

Second, we have a picture by Bella Skye of Bella Skye Photography. This one is so beautiful! It makes me want to stand at the edge and watch the reflection of the world. It's so peaceful and quiet. Wonderful picture, Bella Skye!
#2

And third, we have a wonderful picture by Alexis Nicole of Alexis Nicole Photography. Okay, I'm loving the reflection in the ornament, the contrast, everything. :D It looks amazing, Alexis!
#3

And last but definitely not least, we have a beautiful photograph by Allison of Allie Dean Photographie. I love this one! It hardly ever snows in Texas, and I love the whole idea of glitter polar bears and mirror snowflakes! The composition is amazing; lovely job, Allison!
#4

Amazing job, everyone!
So, now you need to vote!! *grins* The poll is on the sidebar, and it closes on the Tuesday the 25th...so hurry and vote! :)

365 Project: to be, or not to be? That is the question.

Is anyone else considering doing the 365 Project? I was just thinking that the New Year would be the neatest time to start. I tried it last year, on my birthday, and after a month I gave up. At first I was SO excited about the 365 Project. Then it became the "365 If-I-Have-Time Project." Then it morphed into the "365 Whenever-I-Remember Project." After a while, it was nearly forgotten, being the "365 Oh-my-goodness-I-knew-I-was-supposed-to-do-something-today-but-I-cannot-remember-what-it-was Project". It didn't last for me, though I'm madly in love with the idea. :]

Anyways, yesterday I trekked to our backyard and snapped some shots of grass and pine cones.

I have absolutely no idea what kind of grass this is, but it looked so soft and fuzzy that I took a picture.

I have this weird fascination with pine cones. I think it's so neat that God would make something of their...*stares at pine cone and tries to think of right word*...appearance. I mean, isn't that so cool?? Our God is an awesome God! :)

I got another picture of some pine trees, and I'm considering making it my new header. By the way, do you think I should make a button for my blog? :]
